Yacht & Boat Rental in the Bahamas
A private charter company working out of Nassau, arranging crewed yachts throughout the Bahamian islands.
Who We Are
Yachts Bahamas arranges private, crewed yacht charters out of Nassau. We are a charter company rather than a booking portal, which in practice means we know the boats, we know the captains, and we can tell you honestly whether a particular vessel suits the day you are describing.
Most people who contact us are planning one specific day. A family visiting Nassau for a week and wanting one memorable afternoon on the water. A couple marking an anniversary. A group of friends who want to see the swimming pigs and are not quite sure how far away they actually are. Occasionally it is a longer charter, three days through the Exumas, or a full week living aboard.
What those have in common is that none of them is a scheduled tour. Every charter we arrange is private. You are not sharing a deck with strangers, you are not tied to a fixed departure time, and the route is agreed between you and the captain rather than printed in advance.
Local, Not Remote
Nassau is our base. That matters more than it sounds, because charter availability in the Bahamas moves constantly and the only reliable way to know what is genuinely free next Tuesday is to be close to the fleet.
It also means the itineraries we suggest are shaped by conditions rather than a brochure. If the wind is wrong for the run south, the captain will say so and propose something better.
How We Work
The process is deliberately simple. You tell us the date, roughly how many guests you have, and what you would like out of the day. We come back with the vessels actually available, what each one includes, and what it costs. There is no obligation at that stage and no pressure to commit.
Once a yacht is chosen, the detail gets worked out, departure time, where you would like to go, dietary requirements if a chef is on board, whether there are children or non swimmers in the group, and anything you want arranged for a celebration.
Yachts are generally fully crewed. Depending on the vessel that means a licensed captain and first mate, and on larger yachts a full crew including bartenders and servers. On most yachts of roughly 45 feet and above, and on the larger catamarans, a chef is generally available to prepare fresh meals on board rather than bringing catering out from shore.
You can see the range of vessels on our fleet page, and the different kinds of charter we arrange under charter services.
Where We Charter
Most charters begin in Nassau and work around Paradise Island, Rose Island and Green Cay, close enough for a half day, with sandbars and reef stops that hold up on any tide.
Longer charters run south into the Exumas: Staniel Cay, the swimming pigs, the nurse sharks, the iguanas, and the sunken drug running plane at Norman’s Cay. Those are full day or multi day trips rather than an afternoon.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are your charters private?
Yes. Every charter we arrange is private. The yacht is booked for your group alone. There are no shared departures and no other guests on board.
Are the yachts crewed?
Yachts are generally fully crewed. At minimum that means a licensed captain, usually with a first mate. Larger vessels carry a fuller crew including bartenders and servers.
Is food included?
On most yachts of roughly 45 feet and above, and on the larger catamarans, a chef is generally available and meals are freshly prepared on board. Smaller vessels vary. We will confirm exactly what applies to the yacht you are considering.
What about drinks?
A premium open bar with cocktails, along with appetizers and hors d’oeuvres, is commonly included. As with food, the exact provision depends on the vessel.
Do the yachts have water toys and jet skis?
Water toys vary from yacht to yacht, and snorkeling equipment is carried on most vessels. Jet skis are not on every yacht. Where they are available they may be included or offered at additional cost. Ask us about a specific yacht and we will tell you exactly what is on board.
Can we see the swimming pigs?
Yes, but it is worth understanding the distance. The pigs are in the Exumas, well south of Nassau, so this is a full day charter on a fast vessel or part of a multi day trip. It is not an afternoon outing.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as is practical, particularly for weekends, holidays and the larger catamarans, which tend to be committed first. That said, it is always worth asking, schedules change.
Are the prices on this website guaranteed?
No. Charter pricing moves with season, demand, fuel costs and market conditions, and yachts are bought, sold and repositioned between Miami and Nassau throughout the year. Anything shown here is indicative. Contact us for current availability and pricing.

Questions About Working With Us
How we operate, and what to expect from the booking process.
Are you a charter company or a booking website?
A charter company. We are based in Nassau, we know the boats and the captains, and we can tell you whether a particular vessel suits the day you are describing. That is the difference from a listings site.
How does the booking process work?
You tell us the date, the group size and roughly what you want from the day. We come back with the vessels genuinely available, what each includes and what it costs. There is no obligation at that stage.
How quickly will we get a reply?
We aim to answer charter enquiries the same day wherever possible. If you are working to a deadline, say so in your message and we will prioritise it.
Do you charter anywhere other than Nassau?
Nassau is our base and most charters begin here. We also arrange charters in other parts of the Bahamas, including the Abacos, though those are organised differently. See our Green Turtle Cay page for an example.
Do you handle charters outside the Bahamas?
Not directly, but we work alongside sister companies in other destinations. Their websites are listed in the Other Yachting Destinations section on this page.
What deposit do you take?
Terms depend on the vessel and the length of the charter, and we set them out in writing before anything is committed. We do not ask for payment details until you have seen the full terms.
What are your booking and cancellation terms?
It varies with the vessel and the length of booking, so we put it in writing at the quote stage rather than leaving it buried. Ask us to walk you through it if anything is unclear.
Will you tell us if a cheaper option would suit us better?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Talking someone into the wrong charter produces a disappointed guest and no repeat booking, which serves nobody.
Do you arrange transfers from our hotel to the marina?
Charters depart from marinas around Nassau harbour and Paradise Island, and most hotels are fifteen to twenty five minutes away. Tell us where you are staying and we will advise on the simplest way to reach the dock.
Do we need travel insurance?
We would recommend it for any trip, and particularly for a multi day charter booked well in advance. Weather and travel disruption are outside anyone's control.
Can you help with anything beyond the yacht itself?
Often yes. Tell us what you are trying to arrange and if we cannot help directly we will usually know who can.
Why do prices change so much between enquiries?
Because charter rates move with season, fuel costs, demand and wider market conditions. A quote from six months ago is history rather than a guide. We price against your actual dates.
